Santa Brought Me My Saddle Pad

>> Dec 28, 2010

Santa brought me the Cinnamon colored Weaver saddle pad I've been wanting for this past year!  I am going to have Sunset Halters make me a halter/bridle combo (like the black/pink one my daughter's horse wears you can see here).  They make them by hand and everything is made in the U.S.A.  Speaking from experience, they do great work.  Will definitely be ordering another one from them.

Holidays Fast Approaching

>> Dec 19, 2010

I have decided to take at least a couple weeks off from blogging after Christmas.  We all need vacations from work and since some of my blogging IS for work, it's my vacation time.  I'm a little worried that traffic will fall during that time though so I thought I'd use a web site directory or two in the hopes it'd keep traffic directed to my various blogs.

If not, then I just work a little harder when I get back I guess.

I hope everybody has a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS and a FANTASTIC NEW YEAR!

PS3 Games

>> Dec 15, 2010

Video game systems are very popular, especially in our house (though, times are limited for playing as they should be and only played on the weekend). We have a couple different console systems for our televisions (plus the kids have handheld games as well). They now want jeux ps3 (ps3 games).  I think we are going to need a third television if Santa drops a PS3 off at our house!

Rex on my Mind

>> Dec 11, 2010

At 5:00 a.m. this morning when I couldn't sleep, I started thinking about the loss of Rex (my daughter's horse that died a couple years ago)  and got all teary over him.  It's amazing how an animal can really touch you to that extent.

I've not been sleeping well the past few nights.  Last night I did get almost six hours (to make up for only getting two hours' sleep the night before I guess).  I have a lot of things on my mind - all the different things the kids need for school in the coming week, redecorating our bathroom and getting a bigger bathroom vanity so my kids stop fighting over the bathroom space every morning, the family dysfunction that gets amped up during the holidays, and money.  Despite all of that, I am looking forward to the holidays.  It'll be a nice break with my kids out of school.

No Back Strain for JeeNee

>> Dec 7, 2010

I'm a couple pounds closer to not weighing my horse down!  Not that my spotted draft couldn't take an extra 25 pounds on her back but I don't want her to have to carry extra weight.  I've heard there are lots of ways to lose weight - exercise, diet, supplements like herbal phentermine. I've changed my diet (because of my gallstones) and my thyroid doctor increased my thyroid medication so I'm not sure which one is responsible for the weight loss - probably a little bit of both.  I'm thrilled over it though.

Halter Bridle to Match Saddle Pad

>> Dec 2, 2010

What color bridle will match the Weaver Cinnamon saddle pad I want?

I talked to the owner of Sunset Halters about it because it seems like it'd be hard to match.  She was thinking along the same lines as me - tan/black.  There is both tan and black on the saddle in addition to all the cinnamon.  I will send Sunset Halters a picture of my saddle when I get it so perhaps something matching can be done to the nose piece (she makes them herself according to your horse's measurements and they're awesome).  If you haven't checked out Sunset Halters, you really need to check out their Halter Bridles.  I LOVE them.  I have one that my daughter confiscated to use as her own.  It works out great and makes it super easy for her to bridle her horse.  No fighting the horse's head and it is so easy to slip the bit into the mouth and latch it.  Since she confiscated that one, I get to buy another one.

Now to finish losing weight so I don't look like a lard up on my new saddle pad (maybe I should be looking at phentermine for some weight help).  I really want a nice picture with my horse.  My horse is half Clydesdale and I want to look small up on top of her, not like a big load.
